Nagpur: A fatal road accident in the Gittikhadan police station limits has claimed the life of a 35-year-old man after a speeding two-wheeler rammed into his vehicle late Sunday night.
The deceased, identified as Abhijit Chaube, a resident of Lokmanya Nagar, was riding his Jupiter moped (MH 31 FY 9134) from Friends Colony towards Hazari Pahad around 11:15 pm on May 3. When he reached Shivaji Chowk in Hazari Pahad area, another motorcycle (MH 49 CJ 4270), allegedly driven recklessly by Mayank Sanjay Tamsetwar (19), a resident of Trimurti Nagar, collided head-on with his vehicle.
The impact threw Chaube onto the road, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Max Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination.
Based on a complaint filed by Uddesh Giridhariprasad Tiwari (28), a resident of Gittikhadan, a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The investigation is currently underway.
