Nagpur: Six persons, including office-bearers of an educational institute in Bhandara district, have been booked for allegedly duping multiple aspirants of ₹45.50 lakh on the promise of permanent jobs in a government-aided school.
The accused include Latif Pathan (70), Arif Latif Pathan (45), Nikhat Afroz, Mohammad Afzal, Raheel Amreen Qureshi and Abdul Gaffar Abdul Sattar Qureshi (77), associated with the Chhapparband Muslim Educational Institute.
According to police, the accused allegedly assured Farheen Afsa, her brother Sheikh Irshad, sister Amreen and others of employment in a fully government-funded school. Lured by the prospect of secure government service, the victims collectively paid ₹45.50 lakh.
However, neither appointments nor salaries materialised. Following repeated follow-ups and mounting suspicion, the victims approached Pachpaoli Police Station, where a case has been registered. Investigation is in progress.
