Nagpur: The Nagpur Division of Central Railway continues to set benchmarks in digital transformation by achieving a remarkable 23.73% share of QR code-based ticket transactions for the period 01 July to 10 July 2025 — the highest in Central Railway.
With the implementation of QR code-based UPI payment facilities at both reserved and unreserved ticket counters, passengers can now make fast, secure, and cashless payments using mobile apps. This initiative has significantly reduced transaction time and improved overall efficiency at booking counters.
This effort builds upon earlier digital services such as mobile ticketing and the UTS mobile app and is a major step toward creating a modern, tech-enabled ticketing system.
Aman Mittal, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, said, The growing usage of QR code-based payments reflects passengers’ trust in digital solutions and our commitment to enhancing service delivery through technology.
Nagpur Division’s leadership in this initiative highlights its dedication to promoting smart, contactless, and user-friendly ticketing options for a better travel experience. The division remains committed to supporting Indian Railways’ vision of a digital and efficient future.
