Nagpur: Following the recent violence in Mahal and Hansapuri, a tense but controlled atmosphere persists in sensitive parts of the city on Wednesday, March 19. As a precautionary measure, the curfew imposed across 11 police station jurisdictions will remain in effect until further notice.

Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal stated that restrictions would be lifted in phases once normalcy is restored.

Authorities are actively identifying suspects through CCTV footage and local inquiries. While movement is restricted in curfew-affected areas, essential services remain exempt. The affected police station areas include Kotwali, Ganeshpeth, Tehsil, Lakadganj, Pachpaoli, Shantinagar, Sakkardara, Nandanvan, Imamwada, Yashodharanagar, and Kapilnagar.

Due to the extended curfew on Thursday, local markets will remain closed. Business associations are coordinating with police officials, and a review of the situation is scheduled for the day. Based on this assessment, authorities will determine the next steps to restore normalcy.
