Nagpur: In a remarkable breakthrough, Beltarodi police solved a child kidnapping case within just one hour and safely rescued a five-year-old girl who had been abducted for ransom in Nagpur.
According to police sources, a 30-year-old woman from the Hingna area filed a complaint after her five-year-old daughter was kidnapped near Wardha Road on Sunday, May 4. The accused, identified as Surya alias Milind Baghel (29), a resident of Butibori, allegedly abducted the child and demanded a ransom of Rs 20,000 for her release. He instructed the mother to bring the money to Butibori.
Acting swiftly, the Beltarodi police team, under the leadership of Police Inspector Mukund Kawade, initiated a prompt investigation. Within an hour, the accused was tracked and apprehended in Butibori, and the kidnapped girl was rescued unharmed.
Further investigation revealed that the accused is a repeat offender with several cases registered against him, including charges of murder, as per records available on the crime database.
The swift action was carried out under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal and Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone 4 Rashmita Rao. The timely and coordinated effort by the Beltarodi police ensured the child’s safety and brought the kidnapper to justice.
