Nagpur: In a tragic incident, a 4-year-old girl was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in the Hingna Police Station area on Thursday, March 20 afternoon. The attack occurred around 2 pm under a bridge in Gumgaon, leaving the community in shock.


The deceased has been identified as Harshita Chaudhary.


Stray Dogs Attack Child Near River:


According to police, Harshita had walked about 50 meters from her home towards a nearby river, believing that her grandmother had gone there to wash clothes. However, as she reached the area, she was attacked by three to four stray dogs, which inflicted severe injuries.


Her parents were away at work when the incident took place. Upon being alerted, police and local residents rushed to the scene and took Harshita to the hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead.


Investigation and Accountability:


The Hingna police have registered a case of accidental death and have questioned the gram panchayat regarding any measures taken to control the growing stray dog menace in the area.


This shocking incident has once again raised concerns over rising stray dog attacks in Nagpur’s suburban and rural areas, prompting demands for stricter animal control measures.
