Nagpur: A woman was allegedly robbed of a 15-gram gold chain worth around ₹45,000 by three unidentified men who were travelling in a white car near Bank of India on Red Cross Road on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred around 8.15 am on September 16 near the Bank of India on Red Cross Road, under Sitabuldi police station limits.
According to the complaint, the victim, was returning home after her morning walk when the accused allegedly approached her in a white-coloured car. One of the three men reportedly stopped the vehicle and called her closer under the pretext of asking for directions.
As the woman approached the car, the accused allegedly snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled with his accomplices.
The victim’s family subsequently approached the Sitabuldi police, following which a case was registered under Sections 304(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with the relevant provisions mentioned in the police record.
The three accused are yet to be identified or arrested. Police are gathering information about the vehicle and examining possible CCTV footage from the area to trace the suspects.
