Nagpur: A tragic hit-and-run accident on Manewada Ring Road claimed the life of a 35-year-old man in the wee hours of Friday, November 29. 

The victim, identified as Samuel Narendra Trivedi, was riding his Bajaj Avenger motorcycle (MH 31 CD 3188) to meet a friend in Dhantoli when the incident occurred.

According to police sources, while returning, Samuel was struck by a black Land Rover Discovery (WB 20 Z 5101) driven recklessly at high speed near Tapasya School, Manewada Ring Road, within Hudkeshwar police station jurisdiction. The driver of the Land Rover, after colliding with Samuel’s motorcycle, fled the scene, leaving the victim severely injured.

Samuel was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon examination.

Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, Narendra Avsaneshwar Trivedi, aged 70, the Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case against the driver of the Land Rover under Sections 106(1), 106(2), 125(1), 125(2), and 281 of the BNS. The investigation is ongoing.
