Nagpur: A tragic accident in Bhokara, under the jurisdiction of Koradi Police Station, claimed the life of a 55-year-old man after he was hit by a speeding school van on Tuesday.

According to police reports, the victim, Jayaram Asadu Pawar, was walking with his son-in-law, Santosh Shankar Rathod (35), near Hans Beer Bar when a yellow-colored school van (MH 31 EM 0089) recklessly ran him over from behind.

Pawar suffered grievous injuries and was rushed to Remedy Hospital and later to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he succumbed during treatment.

Based on Rathod’s complaint, Koradi police have registered a case against the unidentified van driver under BNS sections 281 and 106(1). Authorities are investigating the case further to apprehend the accused driver.
