Nagpur: Kalamna Police arrested five individuals who were allegedly preparing to commit a dacioty near Bharat Nagar Railway Gate in Nagpur.
According to police officials, the incident occurred between 9:35 PM and 10:40 PM on March 11, when a police patrol team received information that a group of men had gathered near a closed shop in the area and were planning a robbery.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the police team reached the location, surrounded the suspects, and detained five individuals while one suspect managed to escape in the darkness.
The arrested accused have been identified as:
- Hemkumar alias Golu Prabhu Hirwani (28) – resident of Bharat Nagar, Kalamna
- Lokesh Bir Singh Shahu (29) – resident of Bharat Nagar, Bharatwada Road
- Ankit Ravindra Rokde (25) – resident of Bharat Nagar, near Sheetla Mata Mandir
- Two other associates whose details are being verified
Police said the suspects had gathered with weapons and suspicious materials, indicating they were preparing to commit a serious crime.
All the accused have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to identify the absconding suspect and determine whether the group was involved in previous criminal activities.
