Nagpur: The Pardi Police arrested an externed individual who had unlawfully returned to his residence despite a standing ban that prohibited him from entering Nagpur city and rural limits.

The arrest took place around 9 PM on February 16, 2026, after police received information that the banned individual had come back to the Bhandewadi–Pardi–Gondpura–Kostipura area. When officers reached the location, the man attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief chase.

The accused, identified as Pavan Prabhakar Khapekar (33), had been externed for three months under the orders of the DCP, Zone 5 (Order No. 50/2025, enforced on January 2, 2026). Police allege that he returned without permission and was likely planning to commit an offence.

A case under Section 142 of the Maharashtra Police Act has been registered at Pardi Police Station, and the accused has been taken into custody.
