Nagpur: In a tragic incident, a 60-year-old man was fatally injured in a hit-and-run accident on Koradi Road near Kalpana Talkies Square in Mankapur here on Wednesday, October 2.

The victim, identified as Liladhar Zhakolilal Samriya, a resident of Jayhind Nagar, Mankapur, was walking as part of his routine when an unknown vehicle, being driven at high speed and negligently, struck him. Samriya sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to Mayo Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he was declared dead at 4:50 p.m. during treatment.

The victim’s daughter, Pallavi Liladhar Samriya (24), filed a complaint with the Mankapur Police. Based on her statement, the police have registered a case under Section 106(1) of the BNS along with Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act against the unknown driver. 

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend the driver involved in the fatal accident.
