Nagpur: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 72-year-old man, while another senior citizen sustained serious injuries after their two-wheeler was hit by a speeding car driven by a woman in the Hudkeshwar area on Wednesday evening.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7:30 pm on November 5, 2025, near Laxmi Mart Super Bazaar on Besa–Pipla Road under Hudkeshwar Police Station limits. Complainant Shyam Manoharrao Nagdev (72), a resident of Pyramid City-6, D-Wing, Hudkeshwar, was on his Activa scooter (MH-31 EL-8650) along with his friend Rangrao Homaji Patil (72) of the same locality, heading towards Besa Chowk for tea.

The impact caused both men to fall, and Patil was reportedly dragged by the car, sustaining critical injuries. Locals immediately rushed both victims to Government Medical Hospital, where doctors declared Patil dead on arrival. Nagdev is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries.
Following the complaint, PSI Shankar Jadhav of Hudkeshwar Police registered a case against the woman car driver under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing death due to negligent driving.
