Nagpur: A complaint has been filed with the Cyber Police against an alleged Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi (VBA) worker from Akola for reportedly sharing objectionable content targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on social media.

The complaint was lodged by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) IT Cell President Sumit Mishra, who sought action over the alleged post.

According to Mishra, the accused, identified as Ashok Shirsat, allegedly shared an image portraying the Prime Minister and the Maharashtra Chief Minister in a derogatory manner. Mishra claimed that the content was objectionable and could potentially affect public harmony.

In his complaint submitted to the Cyber Police, Mishra stated that the alleged post was not only defamatory towards the two political leaders but also had the potential to create social discord. He reportedly attached copies of the concerned social media content while seeking legal examination and appropriate action.

Police are expected to verify the content and examine whether any provisions under applicable cyber and criminal laws are attracted before initiating further proceedings.

No official statement had been issued by the accused or representatives of the Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi at the time of filing this report.

The matter remains under police scrutiny.
