Beltarodi Police Crack Down on Organized House-Breaking Gang; Four Arrested Under BNS Section 112

Nagpur: In a major action against rising incidents of burglary and theft, the Beltarodi Police Station in Nagpur has arrested four members of an organized house-breaking gang and invoked Section 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with organized crime. The move is part of a broader effort by the Nagpur City Police to curb property-related crimes in the city.


According to police officials, a case was registered at Beltarodi Police Station under Crime No. 57/2026 under sections 331(3), 331(4), 305(A), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in connection with a house-breaking incident.


House Burgled While Owner Was Away


As per the complaint, the house owner had locked the residence on February 4, 2026, at around 6 pm and travelled to Pune to visit his son. On February 8, 2026, at around 10 am, the complainant’s cousin Abhijeet Prakash Deshpande visited the house to water the plants nearby. He noticed that the main door was open and the lock had been broken. He immediately informed the complainant over the phone.


After returning from Pune, the complainant inspected the house and discovered that iron and wooden cupboards in the bedroom had been broken open. Gold and silver ornaments along with other valuables had been stolen.


Valuables Worth ₹1.21 Lakh Stolen


The stolen items included:

  • A 20-gram gold biscuit worth approximately ₹50,000
  • 10-gram gold earrings and chain worth around ₹25,000
  • Silver items weighing 10 grams worth about ₹10,000
  • A Panasonic sound system worth ₹11,000
  • Cash amounting to ₹25,000

The total value of the stolen property was estimated at ₹1.21 lakh. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against unknown accused for breaking the main door lock and committing theft.


Organized Gang Busted During Investigation


During the investigation, the police team used technical intelligence and information from informers to track down the suspects. A significant amount of stolen property was recovered from the accused.


Further investigation revealed that the accused were habitual offenders involved in house-breaking crimes in an organized manner. Based on this finding and with approval from senior officials, Section 112 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (organized crime) was added to the case on March 7, 2026.


Four Accused Arrested


The arrested accused have been identified as:

  • Mohammad Zakir Mohammad Shahid (23), resident of Motha Tajbagh, Nagpur
  • Govind Kashiram Sakhare (23), resident of Plot No. 27, Swami Nagar, Nari Road, Nagpur
  • Sheikh Sajjad alias Sahil Sheikh Abid (21), resident of Jhalgaon Nagar, Nagpur
  • Ashutosh alias Nakkatiya Lakishankar Raware (22), resident of Amarnagar, under MIDC Police Station limits, Nagpur


Police have recovered gold and silver ornaments and other valuables worth approximately ₹9.51 lakh from their possession. The accused were produced before the court and have been remanded to judicial custody at the Central Jail.


Investigation Team


The investigation was effectively led by Police Sub-Inspector Kishor Malokar, who exposed the organized nature of the gang’s criminal activities.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP Zone 4 Rashmita Rao and ACP Ajni Division Narendra Hiware, under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Mukund Kawade of Beltarodi Police Station. The team included PSI Kishor Malokar, Police Constables Surendra Bopche, Sachin Lacharwar, Suwas Shingne, and ASI Anil Bable.


Police Appeal to Citizens


Nagpur City Police have appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to the nearest police station or Dial 112.


Officials reiterated that strict action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) will continue against criminals involved in theft, burglary, and organized crime, as part of the police department’s commitment to ensuring public safety in Nagpur.
