Nagpur: An ambulance transporting a dead body from Pune to Kolkata met with a tragic accident near Pipla Bogda on the Nagpur-Jabalpur highway, leaving two persons dead in the early hours of July 23. The incident occurred when an unidentified vehicle rammed into the parked ambulance, causing it to plunge into a roadside drain.
According to Hudkeshwar Police, the ambulance had broken down around 5:30 am. Cleaner Shekhar Pawar (35) had gone to a nearby petrol pump to get a mechanic, leaving behind driver Shivaji Bhambure (40) and the deceased’s relative, Pankaj Biswas (40), inside the vehicle. The ambulance was carrying the body of Kanhaai Biswas from Pune to Kolkata, accompanied by his minor son and other family members.
