Nagpur: A 26-year-old man was allegedly murdered with an axe in the Hanuman Nagar area of Butibori late on October 23, triggering panic among local residents. The deceased, identified as Tushar Kulmate, a resident of Juni Vasti in Butibori, was killed at around 11 pm, police said.

Police suspect that a personal dispute, possibly linked to a past relationship, may have led to the murder. However, the exact motive has not yet been established, and investigators are examining all possible angles before reaching a conclusion.

Ajay Sirsam (30), a resident of Khapri (Moreshwar) in the Hingna area of Nagpur district, is suspected of involvement in the crime. He allegedly fled after the incident, and police have launched efforts to trace him.

A case was registered on the morning following the murder. Investigators are gathering evidence and questioning relevant persons to establish the sequence of events and determine the motive behind the killing.

The search for the suspect and further investigation are underway.
