Nagpur: In a significant operation, Yashodharanagar Police apprehended a man in possession of prohibited tobacco products worth approximately ₹2.1 lakh. The raid was conducted on Monday, January 20, between 6:30 pm and 8:25 pm, at Paras Kirana Stores in Waghoba Nagar, Yashodharanagar, following credible information.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Mustaqin Ansari (54), was found storing and selling banned flavoured tobacco and gutkha for personal profit.

A case has been registered under sections 123, 223, 274, and 275 of the BNS, along with Section 59 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal and DCP Zone 5 Niketan Kadam, with the team led by Police Inspector Ramesh Khune. Further investigations are underway.
