Nagpur: A 27-year-old woman from Nagpur tragically lost her life in a paragliding accident in Goa. The victim, Shivani Ishwar Duble, a resident of Vishwakarma Nagar, fell into a ditch after the rope securing her during the activity reportedly snapped.

According to the Goa police, the incident occurred on January 18 while Shivani was celebrating the New Year with her friends. During the paragliding activity, the rope broke, causing her to fall from an estimated height of 100 feet. She sustained severe injuries and succumbed to them at the scene.

Shivani’s body was recovered by the Goa police, and after completing the formalities, her remains are being transported to Nagpur via Hyderabad by a cargo plane. Her father, Ishwar Duble, has traveled to Goa and is expected to arrive in Nagpur with her body on Tuesday morning.

Shivani is survived by her mother, a retired nurse from Super Specialty Hospital, and her younger sister.

The tragic incident has raised concerns over the safety standards of adventure activities in Goa. Further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances leading to the accident.
