Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 1 of Nagpur Police successfully solved a two-wheeler theft case reported in Sitabuldi.
On August 14, 2025, complainant Jayesh Jayant Deshpande (29), a resident of Gund Galli, Telipura, Sitabuldi, had parked his Honda Activa (MH 31 ER 4079), worth ₹30,000, outside his residence with the handle locked. During the night between 10 pm and 11.45 pm, unidentified thieves stole the vehicle. Following his complaint, Sitabuldi Police had registered a case under Section 379 of the BNS against an unknown accused.
During parallel investigations, the Crime Branch Unit 1 team conducted technical analysis and, acting on reliable information, laid a trap and detained a conflict-with-law juvenile along with the stolen scooter. Upon interrogation, the minor confessed to committing the theft along with an accomplice. Police seized the stolen Honda Activa worth ₹30,000 from his possession.
The juvenile has been handed over to Sitabuldi Police for further action, while a search is on for his absconding accomplice. The operation was executed under the guidance of DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil by the Crime Branch Unit 1 team.
