Nagpur: Acting on reliable information, officials from Crime Branch Unit No. 5 apprehended a man carrying a knife during a patrol in the Pardi area early on Friday, November 22. The incident occurred between 3:30 a.m. and 4:40 a.m. near the mutton market road in Pardi.
The suspect, identified as Rohit alias Kalya Khanna Shahu, a 32-year-old resident of Pardi, Bhandevadi, was spotted holding a knife-like weapon. The police surrounded him and took him into custody. Upon questioning, Shahu revealed his identity.
The police seized an iron knife worth approximately Rs. 1,000 from the suspect. It was discovered that he had violated the weapon prohibition order issued by the Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City.
A case has been registered against Shahu at Pardi Police Station under Section 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused, along with the seized weapon, has been handed over to Pardi Police for further investigation.
