Nagpur: After a week of restrictions due to the March 17 violence, the curfew in riot-affected areas of Nagpur has been completely lifted. Following a partial relaxation on Saturday, March 22, and a review of the situation, Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal announced the complete removal of curfew from all affected areas on Sunday, March 23, at 3:00 PM.
Curfew Relaxation Timeline
On Saturday, March 22, curfew was fully lifted from:
• Zone 3: Pachpaoli, Shantinagar, Lakadganj police station areas
• Zone 4: Sakkardara and Imamwada police station areas
Additionally, curfew in the following areas was relaxed from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM but reimposed thereafter:
• Zone 3: Kotwali, Tehsil, Ganeshpeth police station areas
However, in Zone 5’s Yashodharanagar area, curfew remained in effect until further orders.
On Sunday, March 23, after further assessment, authorities completely lifted curfew from:
• Kotwali
• Tehsil
• Ganeshpeth
• Yashodharanagar
