Nagpur: The Unit 2 team of Nagpur Crime Branch conducted a late-night raid at Cuba Cafe in Dharampeth on Tuesday and allegedly uncovered an illegal hookah service being operated for customers under the cover of a café business.

Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch squad reached the premises and carried out an inspection. During the operation, police allegedly found arrangements being made to serve hookah to patrons in violation of applicable regulations.

Police seized hookah-related materials from the spot and initiated legal action against those responsible. The cafe owner and manager were booked in connection with the case.

According to police, an offence has been registered under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).

Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of the operation and whether any additional violations were committed
