Nagpur: Panic gripped the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court on Tuesday, April 22, after an anonymous bomb threat was received, prompting immediate security action and a massive search operation on the court premises.

This is the second bomb threat targeting the High Court in recent times. A similar incident occurred on March 24, 2025, which later turned out to be a hoax. Jariptaka resident who informed Sadar police station about the bomb threat was detained in this connection.

Acting swiftly on the alert, security personnel secured the premises and immediately informed the Sadar Police Station. A team of senior police officials and a bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) was deployed to carry out a thorough search across the premises.

Coincidentally, a similar bomb threat was also received via email by the Gauhati High Court on Tuesday, further raising concerns about coordinated threats targeting judicial institutions.

A suspicion bag with a mobile has been found at the Nagpur High Court premises. The police are continuing with search operations and have initiated efforts to trace the source of the threat.

Further investigation is underway.
