Nagpur: In a significant step towards environmental conservation, a total of 21,501 electricity consumers from Nagpur and Wardha districts have embraced Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited's (MSEDCL) 'Go-Green' initiative by completely opting out of printed electricity bills. This includes 18,350 consumers from Nagpur district and 3,151 from Wardha district.
These consumers have chosen to receive their electricity bills via email and SMS, instead of the traditional paper format. As a reward, they are granted a discount of ₹10 on each bill, resulting in a yearly saving of ₹120 per consumer. Over the past year, consumers from Nagpur Circle participating in this initiative have collectively saved more than ₹25.8 lakh.
MSEDCL's 'Go-Green' initiative aims to involve consumers in environmental conservation by reducing paper usage. Under this campaign, consumers are given the option to receive their bills electronically, which reduces the need for paper and helps preserve the environment.
Key Benefits of the 'Go-Green' Initiative:

- Cost Savings: Consumers save ₹10 per bill, and those who pay before the due date also receive a 1% prompt payment discount.
